Scattered amongst the more modern style buildings are the open air markets. Each little stand looks like a little hut. There is a straw roof, bamboo poles at each corner supporting it, and a thatched bamboo railing with shelf. This was easily a place that would be updated, but it's almost like a tourist type of area. The locals love the flair and color it provides the island. They surely did not want everything to be modern and as time went on it remained untouched, well except for a few well hidden electrical items, would not want the food to spoil.
Each little hut has different things. You can find anything from food, clothing, jewelry, and even school supplies. If you need it, there is a hut that sells it. Along the outer areas are small tables with a few chairs, these are scattered here and there. The markets also hold a vast array of cooked foods. There is not a restaurant around, but you will not go hungry in this place.
