Long ago, Ahi'Make Moku was a magical place. Lokelani, a powerful white witch, ruled the island, keeping it fertile and safe from evil. The people and creatures lived in harmony; their love and innocence a testament to the ways of their queen.
However, one evil meant to steal that innocence away…
Vaelir Mortharit, a beast demon who ruled over the underworld and minions of dark creatures, planned for years to over take the fruitful isle. Knowing he could never overpower Lokelani, he waited patiently until the time was right.
That time came when Lokelani was at her most vulnerable. The birth of her son Kai left her weak and virtually powerless. Vaelir and his army of underlings invaded, killing Lokelani and most of her protectors. Kai’s life would have been taken as well if it hadn’t been for Makani Mahikoa, a faithful menehune servant to the queen. Fearing for the infant’s life, he ran from the kingdom to his home near a volcano within the woodlands, where he knew his people would keep him safe.
For years, Ahi'Make Moku was submerged in darkness. Lokelani’s followers fled and the place became empty and barren. Evil creatures from the underworld made it their domicile, and Vaelir ruled over it as his own. The once magical place was all but forgotten.
Though hidden away near the volcano with a family of menehune, Kai was happy and loved. Makani raised him as a kind and patient friend to all creatures. He was taught to be a teacher, a healer, but above all else, a leader. As he grew into a young man, he learned to control the powerful magic his mother has passed to him. It was known far and wide that one day he would be become a wise and commanding wizard, just as his mother had been.
When Vaelir caught wind that the lost son of Lokelani was alive, he immediately ordered a ravenous search, burning the forest and homes of the surrounding islands until he was found and brought to him. The people and creatures that had once fled their home of Ahi'Make Moku now had to relive that terrible night. They came to Kai, begging for his help in ending the tyrannous reign.
Three brave creatures of the island, Treadin, a phoenix, Kalicaron, a unicorn, and Jastera, a dragon, all magical in their own right, came forth to help him. Together, the four powerful warriors were nearly unstoppable.
The group confronted Vaelir, and a terrible battle between good and evil began. After many months, finally Kai and the others brought down the cruel demon king, and banished his minions back to the underworld.
The victory did not come without a price. Mortally wounded during the battle, Kai was on the brink of death. However, it was not a sad day. Lokelani appeared to guide her son into the light, casting a spell over the island to return it to the way it once had been. She asked only one thing in return for this magic. That the brave and kind ways of her son and the magic they knew be taught to the peoples of her island.
It is for this reason Kai's Academy stands; A school of magic…an institution of hope...that is until another powerful evil wreaked havoc in the wizarding world; Voldemort.
During Voldermort's second battle on Hogwarts, magical schools and wizards around the world went into a state of panic. Sadly, it was during this period when Kai's Academy decided to close their doors and sent their students away, hoping to keep them safe.
The school lay dormant until years later when a few of the alumni came together to reopen their beloved school. They are pleased that once again Kai's Academy is opening it's doors to young witches and wizards.
