Near the post office in town is a large tunnel that has been specially made. The cart and track are powered by a steam engine. This track goes down a rather long and twisty path to the outside of the volcano. The car ends at the only beach on the island, well... only accessible one. The car runs once an hour taking students up and down. It is a large cove, but no ship can sail in or out. The opening allowing the water to flow and the sea life to come and go is underwater, but don't worry the beach gets great waves. This is a magic island, after all.
The water is crystal blue and the sands are nice and white. The place is wonderful. The beach stays busy, but it's so massive that you never feel crowded. Palm trees provide some shading. There are lounge chairs along the surf to rest on. Only one person lives on the beach. His name is Jonas Swisher. He has a small little hut from where he sells fruity drinks, fresh fruit, dried fruit and nuts to the people coming to the beach. There is much to be done here, swimming, fishing, hiking, sun bathing, sports, you name it. Everyone is welcome at the beach.
