In the center of the castle sets the courtyard, the only open area in the academy. It's accessible from the school on all four sides. In the center of the courtyard is a huge fountain. The base is eight feet wide and about seven feet tall. The ledge about the fountain is a few feet wide, perfect for sitting and enjoying the sounds of the water splashing around. In the center is a statue of the headmistress. She is standing on a large circle, that has been shaped like an open flower. She is holding a few flowers in her crossed arms with some books tucked under one arm. She has a soft smile as she over looks the yard.
The rest of the courtyard flows well around the main piece. There are floral beds and lush shrubbery, many stone benches and ledges for the students, and a winding pathway. The path is created of pebbles and if you look close enough you can make out the fish pattern. There are a few fruit bearing trees in the corners of the yard, that are free for picking. This is a popular hang out for the students.
