32 | Potions Professor | May 7th | Half-blood
Devon is a lively, care-free woman with a passion for life. She loves to try new things and believes in living life with no regrets. If she has something to say, she will say it, though she tries to do so with tact because even being honest isn't worth being hurtful. She has a lot of energy and tends to be rather disorganized (or as she calls it, organized chaos) and sometimes gets a little flustered and forgetful. When it comes to teaching, she isn't too strict unless a student is being disruptive to his or her classmates or is doing something that could potentially be dangerous. She figures that if a student wants to learn how to brew a potion, they better pay attention. If they miss out, it's their loss, not hers. Devon tends to be spontaneous and easy be around. She very much encourages experimentation... with guidance, of course.

Devon's birth was the result of a one-night stand between a Vegas showgirl and a drifter who happened to be having a lucky night in the casino. She grew up knowing absolutely nothing about her father except his name or, at least, the name he had given her mother. Still, growing up with just her Mom wasn't so bad. The other dancers that her mother worked with all sort of helped to take care of Devon, often fussing over the sweet little girl with the fiery red curls who liked to play dress-up in their costumes or let them doll her up in makeup... or vice versa.
All in all, she was happy, so when her letter came to attend Kai's Academy of Magic came at the young age of 11, she was not only confused, she was actually distraught. She liked her life. But her mother had bigger dreams for her, and although she wasn't quite sure about the whole magical thing, she liked the idea of her daughter attending a private school and maybe becoming more successful than she had been. So the difficult decision was made and Devon was sent to Kai's. Her first year was the most difficult, but in her second year another young girl came to the school and the two of them were polar opposites in personality, which may be why she and LeAnn hit it off.
When the second war took place and Voldemort destroyed so much of the European wizarding world, she was devastated. As difficult as it had been initially for her, she had managed to make the transition and had found a home at Kai's, and had made many friends. The school shut down and she decided to take the opportunity to travel... to search for her birth father. It took nearly six years but it finally happened. She found out that her father was not only a pure-blood wizard, but an exceptional alchemist. The two of the bonded over magic, and he taught her everything he knew about brewing potions.
When she was contacted about reopening Kai's, she jumped at the chance to pass on the knowledge her father had given her to a new generation of wizards and witches. She still keeps in touch with both of her parents to this day and even has hopes and plans of reuniting them.
